Based in Newport Beach, California, UFC Gym is the ultimate franchise leader of MMA-inspired fitness.

The chain was founded by Jim Rowley in 2009 as a brand extension of the famous Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

UFC Gym specializes in Daily Ultimate Training, mixed martial arts (MMA), cardio boxing, cardio kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai boxing and core training. 

Its gyms offers membership tiers and fitness classes, from group fitness sessions and private MMA training to MMA-inspired youth programming plus personal and group training. 

The fitness brand targets men, women, kids and anyone keen to experience the full benefits of MMA-inspired training. 

UFC Gym began its franchising journey in 2009 and is a subsidiary of NEV.

Initial Franchise Fee

  • Class by UFC GYM: The initial fee is $30,000, due upon signing the Franchise Agreement.
  • UFC GYM (Core): The initial fee is $40,000, also due upon signing the Agreement.

Royalty Fee

  • Class by UFC GYM: Royalty fee is 6% of Gross Revenue.
  • UFC GYM (Core): Royalty fee is 5% of Gross Revenue.
  • UFC GYM (Signature) or UFC FIT: Royalty fee is 4% of Gross Revenue.

Marketing Fee

  • A continuing non-refundable Marketing Contribution during the term equal to 2% of Gross Revenues.

Initial Training

This training is generally offered four times a year and must be completed to the franchisor's satisfaction before the gym can open. The training includes instruction in owner-operator responsibilities, instructor training, equipment and buildout, membership sales, prospect management, administration, operations, merchandising, marketing, and franchisor relations.

The Initial Training is included in the Initial Fee, but franchisees are responsible for all travel, lodging, and meal expenses for the trainees. If any trainee fails to complete the Initial Training satisfactorily, the franchisor may require retraining at the franchisee's expense or may terminate the Franchise Agreement.

On-Site Training

The franchise may also provide on-site training for one Business Day by an Opening Supervisor at the franchisee's location during the initiation of Pre-Sale or Opening. This includes a review of all personnel, equipment, supplies, systems, and operations. Franchisees will pay the expenses of the Opening Supervisor.

Continued Assistance and Support

After the gym opens, the franchisor may offer advisory assistance, which can include additional training and assistance, communication of new developments, improvements in equipment and supplies, and new techniques in advertising, service, and management relevant to the operation of the gym.

Training Program Duration

The Initial Training program spans 3 Business Days and is designed for the Owner, Designated Manager, and up to three additional trainees. The content and length of training programs may vary depending on the trainees' responsibilities within the gym.
