Established in 2004 in North Vancouver, British Columbia, by Deanna and Jackson Loychuk, the brand's mission is to inspire and uplift women from all walks of life, regardless of their age, physique, capability, or fitness background.

The gym's offerings are exclusively designed for women, encompassing specialized classes, equipment, and training. Moreover, the brand ensures flexibility by not binding members to fixed class schedules.

30 Minute Hit delivers an intense, action-filled boxing/kickboxing circuit workout crafted specifically for women. These 30-minute sessions are designed to be both challenging and motivating, catering to all fitness levels, all within a welcoming, non-threatening, and vibrant setting.

Over the years, the brand has made its mark in numerous communities and made its debut in the US in 2019, boasting eight franchises with several more in the pipeline.

The brand embarked on its franchising journey in 2006 and, as of 2022, it operates 76 locations, including 17 franchises in the US.

Initial Franchise Fee

The 30 Minute Hit franchise requires franchisees to make an initial investment by paying an initial franchise fee of $45,000. This is a one-time, non-recurring fee that is non-refundable upon payment.

Royalty Fee

One of the ongoing expenses for franchisees is the royalty fee. This fee is calculated based on the franchisee's monthly Gross Sales. Specifically, franchisees will pay the greater of:

  • 4% of their monthly Gross Sales or
  • A tiered fee based on their Gross Sales as follows:
  • Tier 1: For Gross Sales under $100,000, the fee is $500/month.
  • Tier 2: For Gross Sales between $100,001 and $200,000, the fee is $600/month.
  • Tier 3: For Gross Sales between $200,001 and $300,000, the fee is $700/month.
  • Tier 4: For Gross Sales between $300,001 and $400,000, the fee is $800/month.
  • Tier 5: For Gross Sales exceeding $400,001, the fee is $900/month.

Website Marketing Fee (WMF)

To this end, franchisees are required to contribute to a Website Marketing Fee. This fee stands at $300 per month, covering the costs associated with maintaining and promoting the franchise's online presence.

Operating Assistance Fee

Should franchisees require additional operational support from the franchisor, they might incur an Operating Assistance Fee. This fee can be as high as $1,000 per day, in addition to any expenses associated with the assistance provided. This fee is applicable if the franchisee requests and receives operational assistance, especially around the time of their gym's opening.

General Guidance and Training on Site Selection

After signing the Franchise Agreement, the franchise provides general guidance and training on site selection issues, including the selection of real estate brokers and agents.

Owner Training

Before the gym's opening, the franchise offers gym operations training for up to 2 persons, each of whom must be one of the franchisee's owners. This is referred to as "Owner Training". Up to two people must complete this training, which spans approximately 10 days. Out of these, 7 days of training take place at the franchise's headquarters.

Physical Training

Physical training is conducted by experienced trainers. The training encompasses the 30 Minute Hit® brand, boxing, kickboxing, self-defense, and physical fitness training.

Admin Training

Admin training is provided by experienced personnel who have extensive experience in 30 Minute Hit® admin operations.

Hitting it Hard Training

Periodic Hitting it Hard Training sessions are provided on workout techniques. This training is currently offered online or via electronic media.

Staff Training

Staff training, including evaluations for Gym Manager and General Manager, is conducted online or via Skype® or similar electronic media.

There are some territorial protections in place. As long as the franchisee is in compliance with the Franchise Agreement, the franchisor will not grant a franchise for, nor operate, a 30 MINUTE HIT® Gym from a fixed location within the franchisee's Designated Area.

This Designated Area is typically defined as the area within an approximate 10-minute drive time. The franchisor does not have an established formula for defining the shape or size of the Designated Areas, but it's usually required that at least 30,000 people live or reside within the Designated Area.

It's also worth noting that the franchisor may utilize any type of Internet, Intranet, e-mail, or other means of electronic communication to offer or sell products and services bearing the Marks or Copyrights anywhere, including within the franchisee's Designated Area, without any compensation to the franchisee.
