Initial Franchise Fee

For Hotel Conversion Restaurants and Full Service Restaurants, the initial franchise fee is set at $40,000 for the first establishment. For the second establishment, the fee is reduced to $35,000, and for the third and subsequent establishments, the fee further decreases to $30,000. In the case of Take-Out and Delivery Restaurants, the initial fee is $20,000 for the first establishment, with a reduced fee of $10,000 for both the second and subsequent establishments.

Royalty Fee

The general royalty fee structure mandates payment of the greater of 5% of Gross Sales or a specified minimum amount per month. For franchisees owning multiple units, discounted rates apply: 4.5% for owning at least four restaurants and 4% for owning at least eight restaurants.

Advertising Fees

The Business Co-op Fee varies by restaurant type: up to 3% of Gross Sales for Hotel Conversion and Full Service restaurants, and up to 1% for Take-out and Delivery restaurants. Additionally, all franchisees contribute up to 2% of Gross Sales to the System Wide Marketing and Media Fund.

Transfer Fee

Prior to the approval of a franchise transfer, a fee equivalent to 50% of the then-current Franchise Fee is applicable.

Renewal Fee

Upon signing a renewal Franchise Agreement, franchisees are required to pay a renewal fee equal to 25% of the then-current Initial Franchise Fee.

Pizzeria Uno has a detailed training program in place to help franchisees run their franchises successfully. This includes:

Initial Training Program

  • The initial training program includes classroom and on-the-job instruction on basic business procedures, equipment operation and maintenance, hiring and training of employees, scheduling, basic accounting principles, computer operations, advertising and promotion, purchasing procedures, food preparation, food safety, food presentation, food quality, food portions, alcoholic beverage service, food and beverage inventory and cost control, customer service, janitorial service, general maintenance, and other topics selected by the franchisor.
  • The initial training program will be for 20 days for the Operating Principal and 35 to 40 days for the General Manager and other designated Uno Restaurant personnel.

Additional Training

  • The franchisor may offer additional training programs and seminars on topics selected by the franchisor and provide instructors and training materials for such additional training.
  • The Operating Principal, General Manager, kitchen manager, and other designated Uno Restaurant personnel will attend these additional training programs and seminars.
  • The franchisee will be responsible for any and all expenses incurred in connection with such additional training, including costs of travel, lodging, meals, and wages.

Opening Assistance

  • The franchisor provides opening assistance, including pre-opening training, supervision, and on-site remedial training for the franchisee's Uno Restaurant personnel.
  • The franchisee is responsible for reimbursing the franchisor for the cost of travel and lodging incurred by representatives providing opening assistance.

Pizzeria Uno does not grant exclusive territories to franchisees under the Development Agreement. The territory for each Uno Restaurant will be defined in Exhibit A of the Development Agreement, typically delineated by boundary streets, highways, city or county lines, state boundaries, specific radius, or population range, among other methods.

Although franchisees will have a defined territory, it will not be exclusive. Franchisees may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, or other distribution channels or competitive brands controlled by Pizzeria Uno. Under the Development Agreement, Pizzeria Uno and its affiliates reserve the right to continue operating existing Uno Restaurants within the franchisee's territory that were established before the signing of the Development Agreement.

Pizzeria Uno and its affiliates also retain the right to conduct various activities, such as advertising and promoting Uno Restaurants, establishing alternative distribution sites (e.g., smaller food service facilities, in-room hotel dining, theater concessions, co-branded locations), and selling products and services under the Proprietary Marks or other marks, regardless of the competitive impact on the franchisee's Uno Restaurants within the territory.

The Pizzeria Uno franchise requires significant involvement from franchisees in the day-to-day operations of their franchises. The franchisee must designate an individual as the "Operating Principal," who is responsible for the full-time supervision and operation of the Uno Restaurant.

This person must meet the franchisor's educational and experience requirements, complete any training required by the franchisor, and either serve as the General Manager or designate another individual for this role. If the Operating Principal is replaced, a new one meeting the requirements must be designated within 30 days.

Additionally, the franchisee is responsible for employing a General Manager and other personnel necessary for efficient operation and management, all of whom must meet the franchisor's criteria and successfully complete required training​​​​.
